I just happened to be walking by the Bee Happy bed, thinking I need to kill the grass growing in it, when I noticed that among the 500-lb bees in the Oswego tea, there was a Snowberry Clearwing. I looked more closely and realized it was actually a Hummingbird Clearwing, but there was a Snowberry […]

Well, actually Tic Tock, since it’s a Ticwatch E. I finally broke down and bought an actual smartwatch instead of those cheap Chinese ones with a 10′ BT range and little functionality beyond reading notifications. After a slightly rocky start last night, it seems to be functioning as it should; I have access to Google […]

I’m always happy to see “my” turtle. I know it’s Roxy for sure because I got a better picture of her this time. Same chip out of her carapace; just a little more worn than last year. Round Two of the Pipevine faterpillars. I just love these crazy-looking little guys.

First Grey Stick bloom of 2018 found this morning. MLBs will be happy about it, and so will the 500 Pound Bees!

I’m too lazy to write everything all over again, and it was too hot over the weekend to actually do anything (nearly 80 when I get up at 6:00? WTF!) so I’m going to copypasta the email I sent to R. I feed the birds year round, and the pond I dug provides water when […]

So P was very concerned (and I was as well) about the cats’ increased interest once the Baby Cs start moving around and peeping for their parents, so I decided to erect (hehe…erect) a temporary fence around the shrubs and part of the patio. It cost me a small fortune–that plastic poultry fencing is not […]

P was on the patio, telling me about Mr and Mrs C, feeding the kids, when he mentioned that she had flown away. I heard the key word, “away,” and ran over to see whether I could get a photo without being attacked by the parents. Success! Oh my god, they’re ugly little things, but […]
