What do you get…

…when you combine a pile of computer hardware, two eejits and a steady stream of alcohol? You get….my new computer! 🙂

It’s all done now except for the heatsink/fan, which is currently an AMD stock that P managed to find (the only one in existence in MV except those sold with a processor), but will be the sexy Cooler Master that I’d ordered. It’s very quiet; P said it sounds like a hummingbird, but I said that’s a lot of power for a hummingbird, so we decided it’s a Hummer (nah, we weren’t sober). I’ve got all of my files transferred to the storage drive (GAWD what a lot of junk I have), and as soon as I fix the MBR on the drive I’m going to boot (effing POS Windows apparently doesn’t like the partition that GParted created), I’ll get a default install of XP on, then Ubuntu. Right now, I’m using the Dapper Flight 5 live CD, and the little “Install system permanently” icon on the desktop is tempting. If I do that, though, I’ll have to do all of the Automatix stuff manually, and I don’t have time for that, so I’ll stick with Breezy for now.
