Garnier Fructis Long & Strong leave-in treatment. Okay, the name sounds a little like a porn flick and I would not have chosen the funky round green bottle (is it supposed to make me think of a melon or Granny Smith apple or something?) but I love this stuff! Hair (it is an entity in itself, so it gets a capital) is nearly to my waist not because I’m particularly fond (or not fond) of long hair, but because that is the simplest and most efficient, fuss-free way to control the curl–let gravity do the work. Long, curly hair does, however, mean I can’t get away without using conditioner, which takes forever to work through and rinse out in the shower. When I get in the shower I want to get clean and get out, not turn it into a half-day spa with a shelf full of products. I want shampoo, soap, towel, done. Most drugstore leave-in conditioners suck (assuming you can even find them) and make it look like you haven’t washed your hair in a week, I’m not paying a fortune for salon products, plus I’m allergic to roughly three-quarters of the stuff and have to choose carefully to avoid looking like I need a treatment of Advantage. I have better things to do than mess around with styling products or blow drying; it either takes less than five minutes start to finish or I’m not doing it. This funky little green bottle of stuff does everything I need it to do (I can even get a comb through) and nothing I don’t. Having said that, I’d be willing to bet that two years from now, it will no longer exist–better enjoy it while I can. Hair is happy, and when Hair is happy, I’m happy. 🙂
